According to a business daily, the German giant has recently concluded its study of the Indian two-wheeler market and is all set to introduce its motorcycle range in the near future. The report quoted Andreas Schaff, President, BMW India, saying “Motarrads, our motorcycle company, is a core BMW group firm which sees a huge potential in India. We are very keen to enter India and an announcement will be made soon.”
BMW was actually one of the first companies to officially market high-capacity bikes in India, having introduced the F650 Funduro more than a decade ago. However, owing to the high cost of the bike and the prevalent market conditions at the time, the bike failed to make much of an impact. We wish BMW all the best for their second innings in the country.
